Limestone Coast
Lamb is a Quality lamb product directly
sourced from a dedicated group of farmers who are specialists
in lamb production.
All lambs delivered for LCL comply with the Limestone Coast Lamb Code of Practice to ensure a high standard of
animal health and environmental practice. Sheep movements,
breed types and any treatments from birth are all recorded
so that all lambs sold maintain a chemical residue and antibiotic
free status at the point of sale.
Amongst the farming
group are some of Australia's leading White Suffolk and Dorset
ram suppliers. Due to the improved genetics the lambs
supplied by the group have an above average lean meat yield.
The name Limestone
Coast derives from an area of Southern Australia which has
an assured rainfall and if required, high quality water for
irrigation, so enabling lamb production and supply all year
round. Within the region are the famed vineyards
of Padthaway, Coonawarra and Mount Benson. The
surface soil type varies from sand to terra rosa to black
flats but all types are over limestone - hence the name Limestone
Coast Lamb.
Limestone Coast Lamb
is available from several butcher outlets in Adelaide (city
and suburbs) and the South East. Consumers are advised
to ensure that any product purchased as LCL is branded with
a red identification strip showing our brand LCL SA57.
